The Japanese Knife Company (J & M Michaels Limited T/A Japanese Knife Company) - famous for introducing Ceramic blades to the UK as well as, laminated, hand folded and bespoke blades - published its first website in 1998 and opened the first Hamonoya in Europe and now has three Branches in Central London as well as Stores in Paris & Stockholm. A knife studio where the customer could try the knives and receive educated guidance and help.
With a definitive collection of Japanese blades - over 2000 different styles to chose from - expert advice on selecting the most suitable blade; an in-house sharpening service; lessons on cutting techniques and sharpening; an unparalleled range of sharpening systems, this is an absolute must for anyone seeking the best.
As in a traditional Hamonoya, there is also a comprehensive selection of the finest handmade penknives and hobby knives, and other wonderful gift ideas.
We provide Sushi making lessons as well as workshops on traditional Japanese food preparation and techniques. The very popular demonstrations on sharpening and maintenance that JKC conducts at various restaurants throughout the country can be arranged on application.
Please note that ALL knife deliveries are made by ‘PROOF OF AGE’ service. Therefore the delivery driver will require proof that the recipient is over the age of 18.
UK Standard Delivery Information
Our Standard Delivery is FREE for orders over £150 and costs £6.99 for orders under £150. Standard delivery is available right across the UK.
Standard Delivery on orders over 2kgs/Large Size PArcel costs £7.99
We post by UPS on UK addresses for next day delivery but sometimes it can take up to 2 working days.
Ask for any special services like "Next Day Delivery".
Unfortunately, we cannot adjust the delivery preferences such as delivering to the neighbours when the receiver is absent.
Someone must be there at the given delivery address to receive the parcel which requires a signature by the receiver or 'Something for You' card will be left.

All the knives come with "ONE FREE SHARPENING SERVICE".
The customer can bring the knives back to in any of the UK stores for one free sharpening.
Or Customers can post the knives to us (Only to 34-36 Bakers St Branch, London. W1U 3EU) for one free sharpening service but the customer will be charged for the P&P Charges (£12.00 for up to 3 knives shipped by UPS with adult signature required).
Personalization / Engraving:
Where possible or appropriate items can be engraved or laser marked free of charge. Please speak to us in person.

We make every effort to ensure that all pictures and details are accurate. However, as many items are hand made by artisans with raw materials available at the time of production, there can be minor variations in colour or pattern. Any major differences will be advised before for confirmation. Product colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor settings.
EXCHANGES & RETURNS
Any item (except personalised) can be returned for refund or exchange within 14 days by a To Be Signed for service in their original condition. Any items that have been clearly used or with damaged packaging will be returned without responsibility. This does not affect your statutory rights or distance selling regulations.
