The Greige Story, some details about us: 

Greige was born out of a need to “escape”…. my father died at the end of 2012, finally losing his hard fought battle with cancer.  I was grief-stricken and, in all honesty, probably looking for a way to divert my thoughts to anything other than what had just happened.  My escape… I went on a very long shopping trip!


Our website, and the product range we offer here, is the result of that shopping trip and the many shopping trips since!  Basically, my criteria when buying is that I have to love whatever I buy.... each purchase is made following the rule that I have to be happy to have it in my own home should it not sell!  In fact, it is proving very difficult for me to part with some of the goodies that I accumulate.


Everyone who knows me well, knows of my love for everything “grey-beige”…  my home is very neutral and natural, with a raw “unfinished” theme.  Everything we stock is of a similar nature  – hence the name “Greige”. When choosing the name I had no idea that it was not only a word made up to describe the grey/beige theme but also a word in the dictionary (French origin) meaning “raw, unbleached, undyed textile or linen” - very apt!


I hope you enjoy browsing.  I have enjoyed searching out each and every item. Everything has been selected from a wide range of sources - from small, independent craftsmen, vintage/antique sales to large international companies.  I hope you find the array of goods interesting and just that little bit different.  


I had thought about starting such a business for years but never had the courage to do it. Very sad times and a need to escape, combined with the stark realisation that one never knows what is around the corner, spurred me on. Life is too short (far too short for some) – we need to follow our dreams.

  • £9.95 for Next Day Delivery (ORDER BEFORE 12 NOON)* We can despatch Mon-Fri for next working day delivery - orders placed over the weekend for next working day delivery will be despatched on Monday for delivery Tuesday. This service is subject to stock availability - we will confirm by email or phone after order placed.

Please ensure that you give a full and correct address and postcode as well as a mobile telephone number and email. Unfortunately we cannot deliver to a PO Box Number.

* Please note that for some larger items there may be an additional delivery charge - see notes under individual items.  We may also make additional delivery charges to send to the following postcodes depending on the item size/weight. Please make your order and we will email or call you with any additional costs. We will always try to keep this to a minimum.

We hope you will be very happy with anything you buy from us but realise that it might occasionally be necessary to return an item.  If you are unhappy with a product for any reason please contact us immediately and in any case within 14 calendar days of receipt. We hope this will be rare, but want to ensure the process is as flexible and easy as possible. Should you need to return any item you can:- 

  • Drop off at our London address (any time during office hours)

  • Return via post or courier to our London address.

Items must be returned within 14 calendar days of notice of cancellation.

We are happy to refund unwanted items (provided they are returned within the timeframes above and in re-saleable condition, in the original packaging). However, return postage costs will be the responsibility of the customer unless the items are damaged or faulty in which case we will also reimburse the cost of return postage or arrange collection of the goods. Please remember to obtain proof of postage when returning items.
